Jastreboff et al., "Tirzepatide Once Weekly for the Treatment of Obesity" (SURMOUNT-1), New England Journal of Medicine, 2022 — average body-weight reductions of 15.0%, 19.5% and 20.9% at 5, 10 and 15 mg over 72 weeks versus 3.1% with placebo. Wilding et al., "Once-Weekly Semaglutide in Adults with Overweight or Obesity" (STEP 1), NEJM, 2021 — 14.9% average reduction at 2.4 mg over 68 weeks versus 2.4% with placebo. Garvey et al., SURMOUNT-2 (tirzepatide in type 2 diabetes), Lancet, 2023. Frías et al., SURPASS-2 (tirzepatide versus semaglutide 1 mg in type 2 diabetes), NEJM, 2021. These trials studied the FDA-approved products; their results do not transfer automatically to compounded formulations.

Inherited evidence ledger

This project inherits and continues a row-level evidence ledger (capture dates, verification statuses, supersession notes) from its predecessor dataset; ledger conventions — including the removal of unverifiable sub-$100 semaglutide figures on 2026-07-20 — carry forward and are visible in the corrections log.
